USA Today was the first to reveal the new images of Playmates Star Trek figures. Click the link at the beginning to get the slideshow. We have shots below of the 12″ figure line and the completed bridge playset for the 3-3/4″ line. These are looking good and I have a feeling I’ll be picking up some of these, especially whatever is need to have the full bridge! We’ll have more for you as soon as we get to play with…er, take a look at these ourselves. Stay tuned!
[UPDATE] Pop Culture Zoo has been sent a whole bunch of pictures for the Playmates Star Trek toys as well as a little more information. We’ll be getting ahold of some of these toys ahead of the release date so that we can play (stop it!), I mean test them out for you!
Details of the initial lines:
* Three scales of life-like, fully-articulated action figures (3.75″, 6″, 12″) come with removable utility belts, phasers, communicators and other accessories.
* The USS Enterprise. The updated vessel from the new film includes lights and emits sound effects and actual film dialogue between the Kirk and Spock characters. It rests on a Starfleet shield base that attaches via a ball-and-socket tip that lets the ship pivot 360 degrees.
* Basic role-play toys boasting exciting electronic features including the Communicator, Phaser and Tricorder.
* Amazing and intricate playsets with working lights and sounds that are compatible with the 3.75″ action figures including the Enterprise Bridge and the Transporter Room playset.
