Every couple of months, the good folks over at Hasbro reach out to the fan community for a round of questions regarding upcoming developments in their uber-popular G.I. Joe line. This time around, we were fortunate enough to have a few of our questions addressed. Check out their answers below and let us know if you have anything you’d like us to ask for the next round!
Q: Are other large 25th Anniversary vehicles, beyond the Rattler and the Skystryker, planned? (the H.A.V.O.C, perhaps)
A: Prior to movie, we will not have any large vehicles outside of the Rattler
and Conquest.
Q: In other Q&A’s, you’ve been able to confirm new characters coming out under the 25th Anniversary banner. Are there any other popular or requested characters Kwinn the Eskimo or Cobra Officer Claymoore that you can confirm fans will NOT see (other than Cover Girl and Sgt. Slaughter)?
A: Yes, we can confirm that neither Kwinn nor Claymoore will be out under the 25th banner.
Q: Are there any additional Dreadnoks planned or is this figure retired for now?
A: There are no plans for the Dreadnoks in the near future, but over the long
term, we hope to explore this area of the fantasy.
Q: What led Hasbro to give fans Nemesis Enforcer but none of the other Cobra-La denizens?
A: The Hasbro team wanted to celebrate an era of G.I. Joe lore with a Cobra-La figure. But general demand for these figures is relatively low, so we could not do more than one.
Q: Around 2004-2005, Hasbro released single-carded “best of” figures from the Spy Troops era with discs. Any chance that a similar model could be used to release the full series of Sunbow Cartoons?
A: Thanks for the suggestion, this may be a possibility further down the line, but not in 2008/2009.
Thanks to Michael Ritchie, Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Global Brand Marketing Director for taking the time to answer these questions. Next year should prove to be an exciting one for Joe fans!
