DC Comics Relaunch: The Dark Side

There was a time where DC Comics was publishing some really crazy stuff, in addition to straight-up super-hero books. Swamp Thing and Sandman, while rooted in the DC Universe proper tended to exist in their own unique realities and pushed the form of comic books in new and interesting ways. For whatever reason, it was decided to give these “mature” titles their own imprint back in 1993 and that became sort of the dark corner of the DC Comics publishing world, never to interact with the rest of the super-heroes. However, since the end of Brightest Day, that has now changed. Many characters are coming back into the light, as it were, and a goodly selection of them are making their way into some of the new #1 issues debuting in September.
