Syfy officially announced today two more guest-stars for their hit series Eureka. Already renewed for a fifth season, the show is still filming on the current season, so it’s assumed that the Stargate Universe star and comic book icon will both be showing up towards the end of the current season. Ming-Na will portray U.S. Senator Alice Wen who arrives in Eureka to handle a sensitive matter within Global Dynamics. Her character may appear in more than one episode. Details of Stan Lee’s appearance are being kept under wraps. No airdates have been set at this time.
Eureka stars Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Erica Cerra, Neil Grayston, Niall Matter, James Callis and features Jordon Hinson. Co-creator Jaime Paglia and Bruce Miller are Executive Producers and the series is produced by Universal Cable Productions. Guest-stars already appearing or announced for this year are Wil Wheaton, Jamie Kennedy, Chris Parnell, Felicia Day, Jaime Ray Newman and former cast members Ed Quinn and Matt Frewer. Wil Wheaton will be returning later in the year for a multi-episode stint. Matt Frewer will also appear in several episodes.
The surprise inclusion in today’s announcement is Ed Quinn, who appeared as regular character Nathan Stark until the fourth episode of the third season. That episode, “I Do Over” seemed to mark the death of his character. Quinn appeared in a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” moment in the Eureka Comic-Con preview, but this is the first confirmation we’ve gotten about his return. Obviously, the manner in which he returns and whether it is for one episode or more is still under wraps, but we, like all you Eureka fans, will be very happy to see both Quinn and Stark back on the show.
