When Fantastic Four #570 hits comic shops next month, the creative team won’t be the only change. Today Marvel revealed the new logo for the title and it is a newer version of the logo used on the comic from issue #160 (cover date July, 1975) through issue #217 (cover date April, 1980). Occasionally the character circles were dropped, but this is essentially the way it looked during one of the best five years of the book. High concept and high sci-fi were the order of the day. #182 was the first issue of Fantastic Four that I ever bought. It featured the reveal of Reed Richards having been impersonated by his Counter-Earth duplicate, the Brute, while the real Reed was trapped in the Negative Zone. Suffice it to say, this logo is somewhat a favorite of mine, so I’m pretty happy to see it return! See the logo above and below is Alan Davis’ #570 cover with logo attached.
