Marvel just sent Pop Culture Zoo an image of the John Romita Sr. variant cover for Amazing Spider-Man #600. Romita succeeded the orginal penciler on Spider-Man, Steve Dikto, in 1966 and was the artist for such classic stories as “Spider-Man No More!” (which formed part of the plot of Spider-Man 2, including a specific comic panel recreated in the film) and “The End of the Green Goblin!”. Also notable is that Romita’s son, John Romita Jr. (an seminal Spider-Man artist in his own right), provides another cover as well as interior pencils. Here’s John Romita Sr.’s cover along with the Diamond solicit information. The issue hits comic stores on July 22nd.
