When Marvel’s version of the character Thor debuted in 1962’s Journey Into Mystery, he quickly became a hit. He would go on to dominate the title to the extent that Marvel would finally rename the book and with 1966’s issue #126 The Mighty Thor had his own, titular solo book (it was a common tactic to rename a title instead of launching a new #1 back then). The book would once more change over to Journey Into Mystery in 1996 with issue #503 before being canceled with issue #521. Thor would be relaunched a few more times with new number one issues before being renumbered #600 in 2008. Now, Journey Into Mystery will once again reclaim it’s title and original numbering with April’s #622. May it’s newest reign last a long, long time. Here’s the details from Marvel:
