The cover to this year’s “Monsters and Dames” hardcover sketchbook has been released, and if you needed another reason to get pumped for this year’s Emerald City ComiCon, let the cover by Jo Chen (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8, Runaways) work its magic on you:
Like last year’s (now sold out) “Monsters and Dames,” the 2010 edition will feature pin-ups featuring the self-explanatory title concept by this year’s attending creators, including Mike Allred, Tim Sale, Jeff Lemire, Jim Rugg, and Philip Tan. You can check out some of the preview art, including Allred’s crazy rendition of an evil laser-gun toting space monkey.
There will only be 850 of these individually numbered suckers printed, and you’ll have to wait in line with me when they go on sale March 13 at the Washington State Convention Center. Also, part of the proceeds will benefit the Seattle Children’s Hospital — which is another good reason to support the book if you weren’t sold after reading the words “evil laser-gun toting space monkey.”
