David Tennant Travels From The TARDIS To The Courtroom

After David Tennant announced that he was stepping down as the incumbent Doctor on the longest-running science-fiction show ever, Doctor Who, there has been slowly building speculation on what role the insanely popular actor would tackle next. That question has been answered today as the Hollywood Reporter confirms that Tennant has won the lead in a new NBC pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. The hourlong comedic legal drama has been languishing since being greenlighted in August trying to find a lead actor and, apparently, Tennant nailed the role. It will be both welcome and interesting to see Tennant back in a weekly series; welcome because he’s an amazing actor to watch and interesting because Rex is an American based series and, presumably because his character is from Chicago, the Scottish actor will be effecting an American accent.
