Max Barry (Syrup, Jennifer Government, Company) is writing his next novel for the Internet and you can read it as he writes it. If you dig Barry’s writing as much as I do, this is very welcome news. Starting March 18th, Barry will begin his new novel and will make each page available in a variety of ways, but the important part is we will get each page in “real-time.” This is a fascinating concept and if anyone can pull it off, it’s Max Barry. I’ve read through each of his books very quickly, which usually leaves me desperate for his next one, so being forced to read the new one over the course of possibly a year is very intriguing. Basically, like a literary narcotic, the first few pages will be a free preview and then it’ll cost you $6.95 to get the rest. But then you’ll have your very own copy of a new Max Barry novel and at a price that’s cheaper than a mass market paperback, plus you will be directly supporting the author.
