Guns N’ Roses is set to release the follow up to 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident? sometime in the next few months. Yes, you read that correctly, this will be the band’s first full studio album in over fifteen years. And, considering the road this “new” album has taken, don’t go organizing any listening parties just yet. The band started on Chinese Democracy in 1994 and work has continued sporadically over the intervening years and through several band line-up changes. According to Reuters, this “Duke Nukem Forever” of the music world is being bandied about as an exclusive release to a big-box retailer, such as Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Of course, it is being stressed that after an undetermined exclusive window, the record will show up in traditional music stores. Neither Front Line, the band’s management, nor their label Interscope, are saying anything and both Wal-Mart and Best Buy are keeping mum as well, so place any bets on a release date and/or venue very carefully. However, for those dying for a preview of the album’s sound, the track “Shackler’s Revenge” will be featured on Rock Band 2, due out in September. We’ll keep digging for info and let you anything new we’re able to uncover!
