According to Wired, Jimi Hendrix, arguably the greatest guitarist who ever lived, is coming to “Guitar Hero.” This is the first time that Seattle-based Experience Hendrix, which controls Jimi’s musical legacy, has agreed to allow his likeness to be used in a game. The songs “The Wind Cries Mary” and a live version of “Purple Haze” recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena will be included on “Guitar Hero World Tour,” due to be released October 27th. Other Hendrix songs will be released in the future as downloadable content for the game. And that sound you hear is a few million “Guitar Hero” players practicing their own versions of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
