While The Dark Knight is perhaps the most anticipated film of the summer blockbuster season, another Batman flick is whipping comic fans into a frenzy. Batman: Gotham Knight, a Japanese anime style feature, is set to hit stores in a direct-to-DVD release on July 8. The film contains six sub-stories which feature Bruce Wayne’s emergence as the legendary Gotham vigilante. Each of these stories take place between the events in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
What has fans’ most excited is the roster of talent involved in the creation of Gotham Knight. Among those lending their talents to the project are writers David Goyer (Batman Begins) and Josh Olson (A History of Violence) along with director Bruce Timm (animated Justice League).
