Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson will be appearing at the San Diego Comic Con on Thursday at 2:00 PM (in Room 4) in a panel title, appropriately enough, “Spotlight on Signe Wilkinson.” The description of the panel on the official Comic Con website makes it sound like an interesting enough hour, however Signe sent us her preferred blurb. To wit:
“2:00-3:00 Spotlight on Signe Wilkinson – Attention comic diehards who are fans of edgy middle-aged white woman humor!…Philadelphia Daily News editorial cartoonist and creator of the new comic strip, “Family Tree”, Signe Wilkinson, will be speaking at Comicon in San Diego on July 24th at 2PM and signing autographs afterwards. Guaranteed 100% super hero free! Friday afternoon the 25th she will share a panel with Mike Peters and Steve Breen discussing editorial cartoons.”
Sounds like a fantastic panel and a terrific opportunity to see and talk to Signe in person. Her cartoons are always spot on and her comic strip, The Family Tree, carries the same sharp edge. Check out her cartoons and the panel and be sure to let us know what you think of both.
