Jody LeHeup Joins Valiant

Valiant Comics continues to bolster their editorial staff with the addition of award nominated editor Jody LeHeup. So far, Valiant has made some impressively smart choices in the talent they’ve chosen to corral and this is yet another one that bodes well for the future of the returning comics publisher. Here are all the details from today’s press release:

Valiant is proud to announce that former Marvel editor and Harvey Award nominee Jody LeHeup has been named to the position of Associate Editor. In his new role, LeHeup will contribute to Valiant’s newly relaunched stable of ongoing titles, including X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, and Archer & Armstrong. LeHeup is the latest addition to Valiant’s growing editorial team, joining Assistant Editor Josh Johns and Executive Editor Warren Simons.

“When we began our search for a new Associate Editor, Jody’s name was at the top of my list,” said Simons. “I had the opportunity to share an office with Jody at Marvel, and I saw firsthand how dedicated he was to creating amazing, innovative stories. He has a tremendous love for our medium, and I know he’ll be an exceptional addition to our hardworking team at Valiant.”

A four-year veteran of Marvel editorial, LeHeup edited a host of bestselling and critically lauded titles during his tenure, including Uncanny X-Force, Age of Apocalypse, Deadpool, and X-Factor, while his work on the acclaimed anthology Strange Tales garnered him a Harvey Award nomination in 2011.

“Valiant is already off to a roaring start and I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented team,” said LeHeup. “Warren is one of the best editors in the industry and I’m happy to have the chance to work with him, as well as the rest of Team Valiant, in continuing to redefine the Valiant Universe for a new generation.”

“Jody is an excellent addition to our incredibly talented editorial roster,” added Valiant CEO Jason Kothari. “We’ve worked hard to assemble a formidable team across all facets of Valiant and, with Jody now working at the side of Warren, we look forward to producing great stories for many years to come.”
