Helmetgirls Will Be Unleashed In 2012

We at Pop Culture Zoo are big fans of Camilla d’Errico and are really looking forward to the new Helmetgirls graphic novel. Joshua Dysart handling the writing chores is just icing on the cake! Check out all the details below from the press release as well as a groovy cool teaser image:

Camilla d’Errico (Tanpopo, Sky Pirates) and Joshua Dysart (B.P.R.D., Unknown Soldier ) have announced that their original graphic novel that has been in development for months, Helmetgirls: Origins, will be released in 2012. Dysart will be the writer, and d’Errico the artist, of the 140 page book based on the Helmetgirl portraits by d’Errico.

Both creators have previously been nominated for Eisner awards, Dysart for Unknown Soldier and d’Errico for her short story “Little Red Riding Hood” with Bryan Talbot (One Bad Rat, Alice of Sunderland), and first worked together three years ago on the teen title Avril Lavigne’s Make 5 Wishes for Titan Books.

So far, few other details have been released to the public, however, full news of the project will be revealed at this year’s New York Comic Con in October. Recently, MTV Geek began serializing d’Errico’s self-published series Tanpopo, which will also have special announcement at the convention.
